Cross Country Announces 2024 Schedules

BATTLE CREEK -- Head coach Tom Shaw and the Kellogg Community College men's and women's cross country programs have announced their schedules for the upcoming 2024 season.  The Bruins are set to race in a total of four regular season meets, including two MCCAA league contests. Rounding out their schedule, the Bruins will race in the NJCAA Region XII Championship at the end of October.

The women's cross country team returns two sophomores from last year's group, and brings in seven freshmen. "I am super excited about the numbers with the women's team this season," said Shaw. "I believe we have the talent to qualify for the National Championship. Our first meet is later this month and will be a league meet. It's going to be a challenge, but it is one we are looking forward to. Our sophomores are locked in and have some lofty goals we are looking to accomplish by November."

The men's cross country team returns three sophomores from last year's 7th place team, and brings in five freshmen. "Our numbers are strong on the men's side as well this season with eight competitors," said Shaw. "On paper, we are a stronger team than last year – and we finished 7th at the National Championship last fall. We have a good group of sophomores who are focused and ready to lead a talented freshman class. I am excited to see how this team finishes in November."

The Bruins will compete at four regular season meets – one in August, two in September, and one in October. In addition, they will race at the NJCAA Region XII Championship on October 25th. Following the conclusion of the Region XII meet, all individuals or teams that qualify for the NJCAA National Championship will travel to Richmond, VA to compete in the championship race on November 9th.
