Head Coach Tom Shaw said, "The Bruins finished 7th of 14 teams participating in the race. The Bruins also finished 3rd of 7 Community College teams running the race. As a team, the Bruins qualified as a team to participate in the NJCAA National Championship in November. Freshman Julian Borst finished 13th of 104 runners. His time of 26:56 moved him into a tie for the second-best time in KCC history. Borst, coming off his NJCAA Division 3 Runner of the Week honors, was also the first JUCO runner across the finish line against a tough 4-year school field. Other highlights include PR's by all 6 freshmen runners as they all improved from their first race of the season. Special note to Freshman Josh Hennessey who ran an impressive 4 minutes and 4 seconds faster then his first collegiate race 2 weeks ago. Freshman Isaac Greene also improved on his first college race 2 weeks ago by clocking 3 minutes and 39 seconds faster."
