Athletics Honors Retiree Charin Nichols
The Kellogg Community College Athletic Department honored recent retiree, Charin Nichols at the Baseball game on April 17. Charin, who retired from the College in January, served the institution in a variety of roles over the past 29 years.
In the fall of 2009, Charin's career path at the college led her to the Athletic Department where she played an essential role in the day-to-day operations of the department and the Miller Building. Over the next 16 years she found herself wearing many hats. From caring for uniforms and equipment, to assisting in the student-athlete eligibility process, Charin has seen and contributed to every aspect of KCC Athletics.
When entering the Athletic Facilities on Campus, Charin is more than likely the first face you'd see and with that, became a familiar face for all of our student-athletes. As a student, if you need something, have a question, or are simply looking for conversation about class or last night's game, see Charin and she'll be sure to take care of you. A regular at all KCC home events, her passion and support for our student-athletes is second-to-none. Possibly her greatest display of Bruin Pride is best seen in Enid Oklahoma, a place Charin traveled to six times to support the Bruin Baseball team during the World Series.
A cornerstone in the athletic department, a key contributor to our campus community, and a true definition of what it means to be a Bruin. We thank Charin for all of her time, commitment, and the impact she's had on thousands of Kellogg Community College students and the numerous others who were fortunate enough to call her a colleague. Thank you, Charin for always taking care of us. Your presence is truly missed, but we wish you nothing but the best in retirement.
Assisting the department the well wishes at the game was KCC Vice President of Student Affairs, Terah Zaremba, Dean of Enrollment Services and Financial Aid, Nikki Jewel and Director of the Center for Student Success, Grace Wentworth who gifted Charin her own custom #29 Jersey.
