Cross Country Teams Finish in the Top 7 at Nationals

The 2024 Kellogg Community College Cross County season closes with program progress and a bright future in years to come. The Bruins return from Virginia with a women's 7th place finish and a men's 5th place finish in the NJCAA DIII national championship race. 67 NJCAA DIII schools participate in cross country nationwide and the Bruins have proven they belong on the national stage and will be a force moving forward.

Women's Results:

Two PRs (personal record) were had on the women's side of the race. Sophomore Alexia Kryszewski finishes her KCC eligibility with the best race of her career. Lexi brought inspiration, consistency and hard work throughout her career that will motivate her returning teammates to be the best they can be. Freshman Kirsten Wedding had the other women's PR that proved to herself she can be a competitive collegiate cross country runner if she wants to up the work load in during the off season.

Men's Results:

On the men's side, Freshman Julian Borst completed an outstanding freshman campaign finishing 6th overall to become an All-American NJCAA runner. His finish was the fourth Freshman across the line and sets him up to chase an individual national championship during his sophomore season. Freshman Isaac Greene improved continuously throughout the season and finished with the only PR on the men's side of the race.

As we close this chapter, we look forward to a bright future as the women Bruins return up to 7 runners and 4 of the top 5 runners next year. The men return up to 6 runners, also returning 4 of their top 5 runners entering the off season.

This off season work load and weight room effort will be huge if the Bruins have their sights on improving their team standings and creating a legitimate run at a podium finish (top 3) and a dream of winning a national championship.
