Volleyball Sweeps Day One of Owens Tourney

The Kellogg Community College volleyball team played on Friday, September 1 for the first day of the Owens CC Tournament. They came away 2-0 with the sweep, as they faced off against College of Lake County at 11:45am followed by Cuyahoga Community College at 5pm.

Stat Leaders: Gabrianna Kringle - 10 kills, 21 digs, 5 block assist; Jillian Clary - 7 kills, 4 block assist; Julia May - 15 assists, 6 digs, 4 kills; Morgan Keson - 11 digs, 3 aces; Ella Kohuth - 10 block assist, 5 kills. 

Cuyahoga| W, 3-0

Head Coach, Judy Mason said, "In the first game we started a bit slow, but then moved into our focus at practice: executing a huge block and working on defense. The energy is through the roof with this group!" Mason continued, "In game two, we found our own pace after the first set and everyone contributed. We ran some offense that we have been working on, and continue to keep getting stronger. A fun day!"

Bruins continue play at the Owens CC Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 2, where they face two opponents.
