Volleyball Splits Day Two of OWT

The Kellogg Community College volleyball team played on Saturday, August 19 for day two of Opening Weekend Tournament in Rockford, IL. The Bruins played a 5-set thriller against North Iowa Area Community College at 9AM CDT, where they fell in a close match. Later in the day, they dominated Elgin Community College in a three set match at 3PM CDT. 

NIACC | L, 2-3

Stat Leaders: Gabrianna Kringle - 14 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces, 16.5 points; Jordyn Arnold - 11 kills, 13 digs, 1 ace, 12 points; Julia May - 25 assists, 16 digs, 6 kills.

Elgin CC | W, 3-0 

Stat Leaders: Gabrianna Kringle - 7 kills, 5 digs, 2 aces, 10 points; Antonia Keith - 6 kills, 3 block assist, 7.5 points; Julia May - 10 assists, 3 kills, 3 digs; Kate Doyle - 10 digs. 

Head Coach, Judy Mason said, "We had a good start to the day with growth and progress for our young team. Next thing we need to do is keep confidence and focus. This team has chemistry and you can see them figuring it out! Game two was a full team effort and we had a chance to work through some lineup options. It has been a great working weekend.. now, back to the gym!"

Bruins take the court next at the Schoolcraft College Tri on August 25th.
