The Kellogg Community College volleyball team opened their 2023 season at the Opening Weekend Tournament in Rockford, IL on Friday, August 18. The Bruins faced off against Lincoln Trail College at 3PM CDT followed by Waubonsee Community College at 5PM CDT, ultimately falling to both opponents.

First year Head Coach, Judy Mason said, "In the first game against Lincoln Trail we had good energy, with some moving parts for the young team and coaching staff. In the second game against Waubonsee, we had a slow start with serve receive challenges. The team revived and stepped up to go after WCC, but we couldn't quite take a set." She conluded, "Overall, today was a great day of progress for us."
