The Kellogg Community College women's soccer team traveled to Ancilla College on August 26 for a conference and region game. They topped the Chargers 4-0 in the full-time win.

"Today's match was definitely a physical test. Coming off Wednesday's win in 100 degree temps, we are a little banged up and lacked a bit of energy," said Head Coach Levi Butcher. "An early morning and long road trip never helps that, either. Despite all those factors, I thought we controlled play well the majority of the match," he stated.

Lucy Lampart got the party started in the 10th minute with the leadoff goal. But, despite the early score the Bruins went into halftime 1-0. Butcher said, "This team adjusts so well, and I have to credit their soccer IQ. We changed our gameplan a bit at the break, and they made the necessary tweaks that put the game out of reach."

Following the half, Emilia Braman scored on an assist from Sophia Saunders in the 55th minute. Aubrey Phenicie added two more to finish the game - one unassisted and one set up by Bella Smith. Airanna Griecci was in-net for the Bruins with a clean sheet, making 6 saves.

Bruins head to Delta College this week, and host Lakeland Community College on Friday, Sept. 1 as the next home event.
