KCC's women's soccer team signs Allison Biergeder, of Pennfield

Allison Biergeder, of Pennfield, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer for Kellogg Community College and will begin competing for the Bruins this fall as part of the College's women's soccer team.

Biergeder was a four-year varsity soccer player at Pennfield High School with honors including All-Conference, All-District and All-City awards, as well as high school leadership and Golden Boot awards. Her academic honors include I-8 Senior Scholar Athlete, Academic All-Conference and Student Athlete of the Month honors.

"Allison embodies everything we want to see in a Bruin soccer player," Head KCC Women's Soccer Coach Levi Butcher said. "She is a talented player, great person, is very academically sound and is a team-first type of player. We are excited to welcome her."

The KCC soccer team wrapped up a shortened 2020-21 season this spring after COVID-19 restrictions pushed the fall season back a full semester. The Bruins finished with a 1-5 record, with two players earning postseason National Junior College Athletic Association and Michigan Community College Athletic Association athletic awards and nine earning postseason NJCAA and MCCAA academic awards. The team was also an MCCAA All-Academic Team and NJCAA All-Academic Team, with a cumulative team GPA of 3.18.

The 2021 women's soccer schedule opens at 4 p.m. Aug. 25 with a home game against Lake Michigan College on campus in Battle Creek. Admission to all KCC home soccer games is free.
