Women's Bowling Finished 7th at Nationals

Kellogg Community College's women's bowling team finished seventh in the nation at the recent National Junior College Athletic Association Women's Bowling Championship, and two bowlers earned individual postseason awards.

The historic team finish – the best in program history at KCC so far – capped the end of a record-breaking season that also saw the team place first in state and second at regionals.

Women's team members who competed at the national tournament, held Feb. 29 through March 2, at Royal Scot in Lansing, include:

Sophomore Abigail Grimm (Climax/Homer High School)
Sophomore Gillian Lemon (Marshall/Marshall High School)
Freshman Isabelle Pachan (Bellevue/Olivet High School)
Freshman Brooklyn Page (Three Rivers/Three Rivers High School)
Sophomore Brianna Pawloski (Olivet/Olivet High School)

Page was the top finisher for the Bruins, taking 11th place overall with an all-events total of 2,111 pins.

"I couldn't be more proud of the work and growth of this team over the season and look forward to more improvement in the year to come," Head KCC Bowling Coach Brad Morgan said.

Two women's bowlers also earned individual postseason honors from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association and/or the NJCAA. Page earned NJCAA All-Region XII, All-MCCAA and MCCAA Western Conference Freshman Team honors, and Grimm earned MCCAA All-Western Conference honors.
