MBB Stays Undefeated

The KCC Men's Basketball team played three games on the road this week, and won all three games to remain undefeated on the season! They topped the Bethel College JV 88-80, and then headed north for the weekend. The Bruins came home from up north with two more wins: 69-62 at North Central Michigan College and 105-59 at Kirtland Community College.

Nov. 28: Bethel JV | W, 88-80
Stat Leaders: Brandon Moore - 18pts, 7reb; KeAndre Nelson - 20pts, 8reb; Ke'Marion Tucker - 11pts, 8reb; Kobe Watson - 10pts; 3 reb.

Head Coach Steve Proefrock stated, "We made a big step tonight in trusting and executing our game plan. Definitely a step forward and something to build on. I am proud of this team."Tonight wasn't our best game but we made plays when we needed to get the win. We outscored them by making offensive plays in transition as well as half court. We will clean up our defense in the next couple of days to be ready for our back-to-back road games this weekend!"

Dec. 1: North Central Michigan | W, 69-62
Stat Leaders: Jakeem Cole - 14pts, 6reb; Jakyren Woods - 12pts, 3 reb; J. M. Isaiah Moore - 9pts, 3 reb; Kobe Watson - 7pts, 5reb.

"Tonight was a gutsy win. The game turned in the middle of the second half and they seized the momentum. We called a time out and went to our bread and butter full court pressure defense and began to aggressively attack their zone press and that was the difference in the game. Great come back win for the Bruins," said Coach Proefrock about the game.

Dec. 2: Kirtland | W, 105-59
Stat Leaders: Jalen Jackson - 16pts, 4red, 6ast; Brandon Moore - 11pts, 10reb, 4ast; Kieaunta Whittaker - 9pts, 3reb, 3ast; J.M. Isaiah Moore - 9pts, 1reb, 3ast; Ke'Marion Tucker - 9pts, 2reb; Jakyren Woods - 9pts, 2reb.

Of the win, Proefrock said, "We are a much better team when we share the ball and play collective team defense, which has led us to now be 7-0 on the season. Every player was able to contribute to the scoring today, with 9 players scoring 8 points or more thanks to unselfish play and sharing the ball"
