Baseball has Five Early Commitments

Baseball has Five Early Commitments

The Kellogg Community College baseball team is notorious for developing and graduating students to their next stop. On average, the Bruins send between 10-16 players onto the next level each year. This year will be no different, with five Bruins already committed for the 2025 season at their next school.

Gavin Beuter (Three Rivers/IMG Academy) a sophomore, 6'4" right handed pitcher is headed to Purdue University in the fall of 2024. Beuter will graduate with his associate of science, and plans to pursue a degree in construction engineering. He said, "I chose KCC for the amazing academics and great baseball program." Last season, Beuter was an All-MCCAA and First Team All-Western Conference, as well as All-Western Conference Freshman Team selection for the Bruins. He was also an NJCAA Third Team Academic All-American, Academic All-MCCAA, and Academic All-Western Conference.

Cody Hultink (Battle Creek/Pennfield) is a 6'0" outfielder, who is headed to Davenport University next fall. Hultink is a sophomore transfer for the Bruins, and they look to see him make big contributions in the spring season this year.

Jake Ickes (Dowagiac/Coloma) a sophomore, 5'8" right handed pitcher will be heading to Northwood University next year. Last season, Ickes was an NJCAA First Team Academic All-American, Academic All-MCCAA, and Academic All-Western Conference selection for the Bruins.

Joshua Midbo (Chesterfield/L'Anse Creuse North) is a 6'4" freshman, right handed pitcher who has committed to the University of Louisville for the 2024-25 season. Midbo is a Gold Key Scholar at KCC. Fans should look to see big things from this freshman in the spring.

Aaron Piasecki (Mona Shores/Mona Shores), a 5'10" infielder, is headed to Central Michigan University for fall 2024. Piasecki is a Gold Key Scholar at KCC, as well as Second Team NJCAA Academic All-American last school year. Last season, Piasecki was an All-Region XII, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Western Conference and All-Western Conference Freshman Team selection for the Bruins. He was also named Western Conference Freshman of the Year.

Head Baseball Coach Eric Laskovy said, "We are proud of these five talented young men that embody everything we look for in a student-athlete. Their hard work and commitment to academics and athletics have earned them tremendous opportunities after their time at Kellogg." Coach noted that these commitments are the first of the year, but will not be the last.
