Baseball Begins MCCAA Play 4-1

KCC Baseball has finished the single, 9-inning-game portion of MCCAA Western Conference play 4-1, and have racked up 10 wins and only 3 losses since returning from their spring trip in Louisiana. Their best winning streak currently stands at nine games, and they're looking to catch that again quickly as the four-game-series portion of conference play begins later this week.

Your Bruins have rolled through most of their opponents, winning by mercy in 5 of their last 10 games. The Bruins offense is led by freshman second baseman, Aaron Piasecki who has a .500 avg. (8th nationally) an on base percentage of .605 (4th nationally) and is slugging at .679 as well. Backing up Piasecki's bat are freshman catcher, Diego Pena with a .269 avg, .323 obp and .593 slg; freshman short stop, Cole Mason with a .349 avg., .482 obp., and .419 slg.; sophomore centerfielder Noah Warren with a .310 avg.; and sophomore outfielder, Gavin Kempainen with a .300 avg.

Current leaders throwing K's for the Bruins this season are sophomore RHP, Kane Elmy with 30 innings, 31K, 9.30 K/9, and a 2.40 ERA; freshman RHP, Gavin Beuter with 25.2 innings, 30K and 10.52 K/9; and out of the bullpen, sophomore RHP, Jacob Spencer with 15.1 innings, 22K, 12.91 K/9, and a 1.17 ERA. 

Later this week, your Bruins will host Kalamazoo Valley CC for a double header to begin the weekend series. The home games will be on played Thursday, April 6th at 2:00 PM at Bailey Park in Battle Creek, followed by the away double header at KVCC on Saturday, April 8th beginning at 1:00 PM.
